Job Description

A postdoctoral research associate position is available immediately at the Marshall Institute for Interdisciplinary Research (MIIR) to study the role of Na/K-ATPase-mediated signaling in cardiac health and diseases, and to develop novel modulators of the pathway in metabolic and cardiovascular conditions. MIIR investigators engaging these lines of research include Drs. Zijian Xie, Sandrine V. Pierre, and Joseph I. Shapiro. We use an array of genetic and pharmacological approaches in primary cells, ex vivo heart preparations and preclinical rodent models. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance productivity and training objectives to develop novel skillsets commensurate with the applicant’s career goals.

Requirements: Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D, or equivalent. Prior experience with murine models of metabolic/cardiovascular diseases is preferred. Expertise in signal transduction, cell biology/biochemistry/molecular biology or drug development is also of value.
